'Justine' is Luxembourg's foreign lingo Oscar entry
LONDON — Venezuelan-born, Polish-based helmer Franco de Pena’s human-trafficking drama “Your Name is Justine” is Luxembourg’s foreign language Oscar entry.
Pic revolves around a young Polish woman’s struggle to retain her sense of self after being coerced into prostitution in Berlin.
The English-German-Polish-lingo pic is a co-production between majority partner Luxembourg Hemisphere Films and Polish Opus Film. It was shot mainly in the Grand Duchy using a large number of local technicians.
The selection commission comprised representatives from Luxembourg Union of Audiovisual Production, the Association of Directors and Scriptwriters, the Association of Technicians and Actors, the Film Fund Luxembourg and the National Audiovisual Centre.
