Casting org lauds Wells

CSA casts its eye on the producer-writer-director

The Casting Society of America has tapped producer-writer-director John Wells to receive the org’s career achievement award.

CSA will present the kudo to Wells, whose credits include “ER,” “The West Wing” and “Third Watch,” Nov. 1 at its 22nd Artios Awards. Previous winners include Lawrence Kasdan, Quentin Tarantino, David E. Kelley, Leslie Moonves, Garry Marshall, Steven Bochco and Norman Lear.

CSA also announced it’s awarding its Hoyt Bowers Award to April Webster. She won Artios awards for the pilot casting of “CSI” and “Lost”; a Dramalogue award for Ezra Pound’s “Elektra”; and an Emmy for “Lost.”

Org will present awards for 20 theatrical casting categories that same evening.
