Busy TLA acquires rights to ‘Calentito’

Sanchez stars in music pic

In a midweek Berlin deal, Spain’s Sogepaq licensed U.S. DVD/video rights on Madrid music-scene comedy “El Calentito” to Philadelphia-based distributor TLA Releasing.

TLA took U.K. home entertainment rights on the Sogepaq- sold “Seven Virgins” last weekend at Berlin.

Set in 1981 during Spain’s drugs-punk era known as La Movida, pic stars hot Spanish actress Veronica Sanchez as a girl who joins a rock band. A crucial gig is interrupted by Spain’s real-ife failed military coup. Chus Gutierrez directs.

“El Calentito” is produced by Spanish outfit Telespan 2000. Telespan’s docu comedy “Estrellas de la Linea,” (Railroad All-Stars), about a real-life Guatemalan soccer team comprised of prostitutes, world preems in Panorama today.
