Brattle ready for financial battle

The Brattle Theater, the famed repertory cinema off Harvard Square in Cambridge, Mass., isn’t going out without a fight. The operators have raised half of the $400,000 needed to keep the nonprofit open and have extended the deadline to raise the rest to the end of February, when its lease runs out. Donations have come from as far away as New Zealand, and fund-raising event are being held. A full schedule of films will be shown through Feb. 28.
