Bavaria under film’s spell

'Women' enchant distrib

Bavaria Film Intl. has picked up international rights to Santiago Loza’s Argentinean film “4 mujeres, descalzas” (4 Women, Barefoot).

Pic will world premiere in the Rotterdam Intl. Film Festival’s Sturm und Drang section (Jan. 25-Feb. 5).

Loza nabbed the Tiger Award in Rotterdam in 2003 for “Extrano” and later won the New Cinema Award at the Buenos Aires Intl. Festival of Independent Cinema.

An Argentine-French co-production, “4 mujeres, descalzas,” a disturbing study of a magical, cathartic moment in the lives of four women in Buenos Aires, is from Francesca Feder, Æternam Films, Martin Loza and Arcano Prods. with support from the Argentine Fonds Sud Cinema, the French Ministere des Affaires Etrangeres and Rotterdam’s Hubert Bals Fund.
