Anger to be feted

Outfest will honor helmer on July 6th

Filmmaker Kenneth Anger has been tapped to receive the 10th Annual Outfest Achievement Award, the fest’s highest honor. Anger will be feted during opening night gala on July 6th. Los Angeles’ lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender film festival also announced the five participants in this years screenwriting lab. Anger is noted as a pioneer of gay cinema, having directed such pics as “Fireworks” and “Invocation of My Demon Brother” and penning the “Hollywood Babylon” books. Selected lab scribes are Sebastien Gauthier, Luther M. Mace, Samuel Park, Dasha Snyder and Isaac Webster.
