Anaya floats into Oz outback ‘World’

Thesp gets cozy for Winter drama

Spanish actress Elena Anaya will play the femme lead in John Winter’s arthouse drama “The Floating World,” from Wintertime Films and Walker Films and sold by Lightning Ent.

Anaya will play an inconsolable Spanish widow who sets up home in the Australian outback at a truck stop where she exchanges sexual favors for food.

She joins Ben Mendelsohn (“Vertical Limit”) and Vince Colosimo (“Lantana”) in the key cast.

Making an immediate impact with her first pic “Africa” in 1996, Anaya broke through with Julio Medem’s “Sex and Lucia.” She plays a woman who manipulates Shakespeare and Cervantes in Antonio Hernandez’s “Miguel and William,” now shooting.
