Tokyo-based Zazie Films has purchased Japanese rights to Spanish psychological thriller “Hole” (Zulo).
Sold at Cannes by Spain’s Notro Films and Eldorado Intl., “Hole” narrates the story of Miguel, who kidnapped and imprisoned people in a tiny well for no reason.
Helmed by Carlos Martin Ferrera and toplining Jaume Garcia Arija, Isak Ferriz and Enric Lopez, pic won the Sitges Film Festival Special Jury Prize in 2005 and an actor nod for Garcia at this year’s Fantasporto Oporto Intl. Film Festival.
Notro and Eldorado teamed before Cannes to jointly sell “Hole” and two Spanish-Argentine co-productions: Jorge Gaggero’s “Live-In Maid,” which took the Special Jury Prize at Sundance in 2005, and Juan Taratuto’s comedy “It’s Not You It’s Me.”
