CANNES — Ray Winstone is set to star in Brit black comedy “Death of a Ladies’ Man,” directed by John Hillcoat and written by Nick Cave.
FilmFour has agreed to co-finance the movie, produced by Paul Webster (“Pride and Prejudice”) for Kudos Pictures.
Hillcoat and Cave previously teamed on Aussie Western “The Proposition.”
In “Death of a Ladies’ Man,” Winstone will play a traveling salesman living a seedy life along the south coast of England. When his wife commits suicide, he has no choice but to take his 9-year-old son on the road with him.
Shooting is scheduled for September.
