LONDON — The U.K. Film Council has tapped Claire Chapman as executive director of its L.A. office, taking over from Susan Finlayson-Sitch.
Chapman was head of production and development for Scottish Screen, where she worked on such pics as Andrea Arnold’s “Red Road,” which was just awarded the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
According to John Woodward, U.K. Film Council CEO, Chapman’s duties will include making sure that the new film tax system is promoted and understood in Hollywood. In addition, she will focus on promoting British films in the U.S. and building links between British and U.S. film businesses.
Chapman will take up her position in August.
