Toronto fest hires trio for Canuck pix

Pigott, Wente, Del Sorbo picked as programmers

The Toronto Film Festival announced Thursday that it has hired three new programmers to help select Canuck films.

They are Marguerite Pigott, a film and TV consultant and former VP of development and production at Odeon Films; Jesse Wente, a film critic on CBC Radio; and Agata Smoluch Del Sorbo, a programmer for the Toronto Film Festival Group’s Student Film Showcase.

Pigott and Wente will select Canadian features for the fest with longtime programmer Stacey Donen, associate director of Canadian programming Steve Gravestock and fest co-director Noah Cowan.

Smoluch Del Sorbo will work with senior coordinator of Canadian programming Ben Murray and Donen to program Canuck shorts.
