Uma Thurman is set to star in romantic comedy “The Accidental Husband” for the Yari Film Group, which is eyeing Griffin Dunne to direct. Yari Film is producing with Team Todd and Blumhouse Prods.
Two writing teams penned the screenplay: Mimi Hare and Clare Naylor, and Kristen Buckley and Brian Regan (“How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days”).
Lensing is set to begin this fall in New York. Yari Film is financing.
Story revolves around a psychologist who gets engaged but then learns she is already married. Tracking down the rogue husband, she finds she’s conflicted about which man to remain with.
Producers are Yari, Team Todd’s Jennifer and Suzanne Todd and Blumhouse’s Jason Blum. Graham King exec produces.
“Accidental Husband” reunites Bob Yari’s production and financing company with Thurman and the Todd sisters, who together produced “Prime,” starring Thurman and Meryl Streep.
Blum also has worked with Thurman before. The two were producers of Thurman starrer “Hysterical Blindness.”
Thurman next will be seen in Ivan Reitman’s “My Super Ex-Girlfriend,” which 20th Century Fox unspools July 21.
