ThinkFilm has set a Jan. 19 release date for Chevy Chase comedy “Funny Money,” produced by FWE Picture Co. and based on the London stage play by Ray Cooney.
Besides Chase, “Funny Money” stars Penelope Anne Miller, Armand Assante, Christopher McDonald, Robert Loggia, Alex Meneses, Guy Torry and Kevin Sussman. Story centers on Chase’s character, who skips town after discovering a briefcase containing $5 million.
Harry Basil and Leslie Grief scripted. Producers are Brad Siegel, Herb Nannas and Greif; Basil, Cooney, Jeff Franklin and Philip von Alvensleben are exec producing.
“Funny Money” will launch in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, San Diego, Seattle, Dallas and Phoenix. Pic’s being cross-promoted with time-share operators Consolidated Resorts in what’s billed as the first of its kind for an independent feature film.
Consolidated Resorts is also hosting the Las Vegas premiere Jan. 11.
