Summit plants sr. VP of sales

Borgos returns to film biz after hiatus

Ralpho Borgos is set to replace Harold van Lier as senior VP of sales and distribution at Summit Entertainment after the Cannes Film Market.

Borgos, who previously worked at companies including New Line, Cobalt and ZDF, is returning to the film biz after a hiatus to pursue architecture and real estate ventures.

He will be based in the London office, reporting to Summit co-topper David Garrett, and will take over van Lier’s territories, which include Asia, CIS, the Middle East, South Africa, Portugal and Turkey.

Van Lier is stepping down to move to France, where he and his wife plan to build a boutique hotel chain across Europe. He may continue to attend film markets as a consultant for Summit.

“Harold has been a fantastic asset for the company,” Garrett said. There could be no “greater tribute to Harold than for him to have his shoes filled by Ralpho, who is also enormously liked and respected throughout the industry.”
