Lane logs into Screen Gems' cyberthriller
Diane Lane is toplining Screen Gems’ “Untraceable,” which Lakeshore Entertainment will produce. Gregory Hoblit is attached to direct.
Shooting is skedded to begin in February.
Script, written by Allison Burnett (“The Feast of Love”) from an original screenplay by Robert Fyvolent and Mark R. Brinker, follows an FBI cybercop as she races against time to track down a ruthless online predator.
Lakeshore chairman-CEO Tom Rosenberg and prexy Gary Lucchesi are producing along with Andy Cohen and Steven Pearl.
Screen Gems is distributing domestically. Lakeshore and Sony are working out rights for the rest of the world.
Lane currently stars in Focus Features’ “Hollywoodland.”
Hoblit’s credits include the recently wrapped “Fracture,” starring Anthony Hopkins, and “Fallen,” with Denzel Washington. He’s received multiple Emmy awards for producing and directing “NYPD Blue,” “L.A. Law” and “Hill Street Blues.”
Screen Gems’ upcoming releases include “Stomp the Yard,” “Vacancy” and “Resident Evil 3.”
Lakeshore recently produced “The Last Kiss,” directed by Tony Goldwyn. Company’s upcoming slate includes “The Dead Girl,” directed by Karen Moncrieff, and the genre thriller “Blood and Chocolate.”
