‘Shoes’ a fit for Vulcan

Drama first developed at Sundance Writers Lab

Paul Allen’s Vulcan Prods. has wrapped “Where God Left His Shoes,” a drama that stars John Leguizamo as a failed boxer who struggles to find a job and an apartment for his family on Christmas Eve.

Pic was written and directed by Salvatore Stabile (“Gravesend”); Leonor Varela also stars. Daniel Edelman, Richard Hutton and Michael Caldwell are the producers. Project was developed in the Sundance Writers Lab in June.

“Shoes” is the third low-budget film financed by Allen’s Vulcan Prods. The first, “Hard Candy,” premiered at Sundance last year and will be released by Lionsgate in April. The second, “Bickford Schmeckler’s Cool Ideas,” premieres in March at the HBO Com-edy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colo.

Allen, Jody Patton and Rosanne Korenberg exec produced “Shoes.”
