New Line has tapped Emmy-nominated scribes Julie Rottenberg and Elisa Zuritsky to pen comedy project “Heirhead Apparent,” set up with producer Mike Karz.
Mini-major acquired the spec last fall from tyro scribe David Clawson. Story centers on the spoiled daughter of a department store tycoon who campaigns to save the store after spending time with workers on the sales floor.
Zuritsky and Rottenberg, who have known each other since they were 9 years old, snagged two Emmy noms for writing “Sex and the City” episodes “My Motherboard, My Self” and “The Ick Factor.”
The duo spent three years on the show, also serving as producers, and inked a multiyear deal to create and develop new series for HBO.
