CANNES — Neal Moritz’s Original Film is co-producing the thriller “Curve” with Benderspink. Pic marks the directing debut of producer-writer Jamie Vanderbilt (“Zodiac,” “The Rundown”). Kimberly Lofstrom Johnson wrote the script.
Mandate Pictures is handling the pic’s international sales in Cannes.
“Curve” is a fast-paced thriller that follows a young woman’s struggle to survive when she finds herself at the mercy of a killer after taking a detour into a remote area just outside of New York City.
Original’s Moritz and Toby Jaffe are producing with Benderspink’s Chris Bender and JC Spink. Benderspink’s Mason Novick exec produces.
Original’s upcoming releases include Sony’s “The Gridiron Gang,” starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Universal’s “Tokyo Drift,” the third installment of “The Fast and the Furious” franchise.
Benderspink’s credits include “A History of Violence,” “Red Eye” and “The Ring 2.”
Mandate is in post-production on Marc Forster’s “Stranger Than Fiction,” being distribbed by Sony, and the supernatural thriller “Passengers.”
