Paramount Pictures Intl. has tapped UIP vets Roger Pollock and Jon Anderson to head the respective distribution and marketing arms when it launches operations in January.
The appointments, announced by Paramount’s international topper Andrew Cripps, come eight months after Par and Universal disclosed that they would dissolve UIP.

Reporting to Pollock will be Mark Viane, senior VP distribution for Europe; Jorge Peregrino, senior VP distribution for Latin America; Mike Selwyn, regional supervisor for Australasia; and Peter Clarkson, who will become director of operations.
Anderson will become exec VP of international marketing. He’s UIP Australia’s marketing director.
Reporting to Anderson will be Katherine Willing, senior VP international publicity; Chas Evans, senior VP international creative affairs; and DreamWorks exec Simon Combes, who will become VP media.
Michael O’Sullivan will be exec VP finance and administration from the same role for Paramount. Reporting to O’Sullivan will be Mark Gethings, VP film reporting and planning, and Jaakko Niemela, director of film planning.
Philip Solomons, who has been with UIP since 1991, will assume the role of exec VP business affairs and general counsel and Dan Olliff will move to VP film operations, responsible for all international print production and delivery.
Par will take over UIP’s local offices in the U.K., France, Australia, Brazil and Mexico in January while Universal will inherit the UIP outposts in Spain, Germany, Italy, Benelux and Russia.
