Morris will script Warners’ ‘Committed’

Studio in talks with Landscape to produce mob pic

Warner Bros. Pictures has hired Shane Morris to pen mobster action comedy “Committed for Life” and is in talks with Bob Cooper’s Landscape Entertainment to produce.

True story revolves around two undercover FBI agents who pretend to fall and whose wedding turns into a law enforcement trap.

Morris penned the script for Warners’ direct-to-DVD film “The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning,” which is presently filming. As Warners moves aggressively into the direct-to-DVD market, studio intends to woo young writers to pen such projects with the possibility that they can later work on a regular studio pic.

Landscape produced the upcoming Fox comedy “John Tucker Must Die,” which bows next month. It also is producing Alex Graves’ “The Crusaders” for New Line.
