MGM has named Perry Stahman prexy of domestic theatrical marketing.
Stahman will supervise all theatrical marketing activities for MGM’s theatrical distrib unit.
Theatrical distribution is part of the Lion’s recently announced revitalization strategy under chairman-CEO Harry E. Sloan. MGM will begin releasing pics domestically this year.
Stahman, who will report directly to chief operating officer Rick Sands, comes to MGM from 20th Century Fox, where he had been senior VP of creative advertising since 2004.
Before Fox he was senior VP of creative advertising at Miramax Films.
In 1997, Stahman joined Sony Pictures as manager of creative advertising. Three years later, he joined MGM as VP of creative advertising.
“We are delighted to welcome Perry back into the MGM family,” Sloan said.
