Mandate Pictures has hired creative exec Nicole Brown as VP production to oversee and manage the company’s creative department.

Brown comes from Marc Platt Prods., where she was involved with “Nappily Ever After,” “The Book of Leo,” “Say You Love Me,” “Compositions in Black and White,” the untitled Marla Ruzica project, “Love in the Driest Season” and a remake of “A Child’s Game.”

Brown’s career began at Miramax in New York before she joined Platt as his assistant, followed by promotions to story editor and creative exec. At Mandate, she’ll report to Nathan Kahane, president of motion pictures.

Mandate also has promoted Mary Lee to creative exec from her post as Kahane’s executive assistant.
