Kimmel parties softly

SKE understated at Akwa

Sidney Kimmel Prods. took a low-key approach at its Thursday night American Film Market party at Akwa in Santa Monica, following a screening of its promo reel.

“We figured people don’t need much to get in the mood for a party after a day here, since a lot of them are still jet-lagged,” said Mark Lindsay, prexy of Kimmel’s international arm. “So we’re a bit understated.”

Besides Kimmel, the event drew Frank Oz, who directed comedy “Death at a Funeral” for the shingle, and Billy Ray, who helmed dramatic thriller “Breach.”
