The Karlovy Vary Film Festival will honor Andy Garcia with a Crystal Globe for artistic contribution during the June 30-July 8 gala in the Czech Republic.

Garcia will present his feature helming debut, “The Lost City,” based on G. Cabrera Infante’s story of a powerful Havana family caught up in the Castro revolution.

An artistic contribution Crystal Globe also will go to “The Lord of the Rings” exec producer Robert Shaye.

Karlovy Vary prexy Jiri Bartoska, who is mediating a dispute between Czech filmmakers and the state over funding, said he’ll hold a sitdown with authorities on the issue July 1.
