KanZaman makes ‘Travel’ plans

Cohen gets new 'Agent'

Madrid-based production house KanZaman has attached U.S. screenwriter Neil Cohen (“24”) to “The Travel Agent,” a $20 million-$25 million Sarajevo-set romantic thriller.

“Travel Agent” turns on a ex-Israeli secret service operative who sets up a travel agency but is asked to travel to Sarajevo to put an old woman, a friend of his mother’s, onto a refugee bus. That’s not as easy as it seems.

KanZaman, the producer of Milos Forman’s “Goya’s Ghosts,” starring Javier Bardem and Natalie Portman, is currently advancing on financing for the pic. Cohen has delivered a completed screenplay; a director has yet to be attached. Pic will shoot on location in Sarajevo and Spain.

KanZaman also co-produced Breck Eisner’s “Sahara” and Ridley Scott’s “Kingdom of Heaven.”

At Cannes, KWA sold “H6: Diary of a Serial Murderer,” KanZaman’s second Spanish-lingo production, to Tiberius for Germany and Tartan Films for North America and the U.K.
