Jeunet to lead Tokyo fest jury

Filmmaker to replace Lelouch as chairman

PUSAN — Jean-Pierre Jeunet will take over from Claude Lelouch as chairman of the Tokyo Intl. Film Festival competition jury, fest officials have announced.

Lelouch had to step down because of a change in the shooting sked of his new film.

Jeunet has an association with TIFF going back to 1991, when he and co-helmer Marc Caro won the Grand Prix Young Cinema for “Delicatessen.”

Other TIFF jurors are actress Youki Kudoh, Pandemonium prexy William M. Mechanic, Venice fest director Marco Muller, helmer Garin Nugroho, and helmer Mitsuo Yanagimachi.

The 19th TIFF unspools Oct. 21 to 29.
