Imagine’s got the ‘Look’

Helmer Howard hoping pic will star his daughter

Ron Howard is attached to direct “The Look of Real,” a Winnie Holzman-scripted ensembler that follows a group of young women in the garment industry.

Project, set up at Universal through Imagine, is on a very short list to be the next film for Howard, who’s hoping the pic will star his daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard. Brian Grazer will produce.

Holzman, who created the series “My So Called Life” and wrote the book for the smash hit Broadway tuner “Wicked,” has already received notes from Howard and Grazer on her first draft. She is now working on a rewrite.

Bryce Dallas Howard will next be seen playing the title character in the M. Night Shyamalan-directed “The Lady in the Water,” and she is currently filming “Spider-Man 3,” playing the webslinger’s new love interest.

The director’s new film, “The Da Vinci Code,” kicks off the Cannes Film Festival on May 17, and Columbia Pictures opens it wide May 19. Howard plans to get back behind the camera before year’s end.
