Paramount Pictures has hired Angela Robinson (“Herbie: Fully Loaded”) to helm “Pledged,” based on Alexandra Robbins’ nonfiction tome about sorority life.
The Michaels Goldwyn Co. — the shingle formed by John Goldwyn and Lorne Michaels and based on the Par lot — is producing with Gotham-based Sarah Colleton.
Jill Soloway (“Six Feet Under”) is adapting for the bigscreen.
For her book, Robbins went undercover as a college coed to investigate the inner workings of a sorority house.
Robinson, who also wrote and directed “D.E.B.S.” for Screen Gems, is lined up to direct “Witches” for Disney and “Jen Bot” for New Line. She’s also penning the screenplay for “Jen Bot.”
Goldwyn and Michaels’ shingle also is adapting Jonathan Tropper’s upcoming novel “After Hailey” for Par, among other projects.
