‘Guantanamo’ wins at Newport

Festival Brief

The 9th Annual Newport International Film Festival, which ran from June 6-11, wrapped with “The Road to Guantanamo,” directed by Michael Winterbottom and Mat Whitecross winning the fest’s top prize. “Guantanamo” also won a prize for ensemble acting. Kelly Reichardt, meantime, took the helmer honor for his pic “Old Joy,” and “Black Sun,” directed by Gary Tarn, was named the Rhode Island fest’s best docu.
