Goldwyn, Fox vid arm see ‘God’

Duo team on biopic

CANNES — Samuel Goldwyn Films and Fox Home Entertainment are teaming to release “Conversations With God,” from producer-helmer Stephen Simon.

Biopic is based on a series of books by Neale Donald Walsch.

Henry Czerny stars as Walsch, who went from being an unemployed, homeless man to a writer of spiritual books, including “Home With God: In a Life That Never Ends.”

“Home” was published by Simon and Schuster in March.

Eric DelaBarre adapted the “God” screenplay.

Gay Hendricks served as exec producer on the pic, which was financed and produced by Cinema Circle. Cinema Circle’s Spiritual Cinema Circle label provides monthly collections of spiritual pics to subscribers worldwide.

Goldwyn takes theatrical and TV rights; Fox comes away with North American DVD, on demand and pay-per-view rights.

Lightning Entertainment is repping international sales.
