Futures Films hires Hildebrand

Ex-Qwerty exec to be managing director of London office

LONDON — Andrew Hildebrand has joined Future Films as managing director of its London office.

Hildebrand was previously head of commercial and business affairs for Michael Kuhn’s Qwerty Films. He also took time out from Qwerty earlier this year to act as exec producer of Richard Attenborough’s “Closing the Ring.”

At Future, he will run the company’s film financing and production services operation in the U.K., reporting to CEO Stephen Margolis.

“Andrew is an experienced person and will be a great asset in further developing Future Films’ deal-making capabilities,” Margolis said.

Prior to Qwerty, Hildebrand was director of business affairs at Film4, and head of business affairs at Channel 4. He started his career as an entertainment lawyer at Mishcon de Reya.

Future Films specializes in structuring tax and co-production financing for independent movie projects around the world.
