First Look acquires ‘Obituary,’ ‘Crimes’

First Look Television announced Thursday that it’s acquiring two films from Chesler/Perlmutter Prods.: the Josie Bissett starrer “Obituary”; and “Lies & Crimes,” starring Estella Warren.

Both films are scheduled for North American television premieres on Lifetime. First Look will distribute the films worldwide. This marks the first deal for First Look Television under newly promoted president Ken DuBow.n

Classic Media is bringing back the claymation character Gumby for a direct-to-video movie and TV series, as well as some licensing and marketing partnerships with national advertisers.

Classic has signed a deal with Premavision cq, the owner of Gumby, to manage rights to the 223 episodes of “The Gumby Show.”

Joe Clokey cq, son of Gumby creator Art Clokey, will produce any future Gumby movies and TV shows, and Heat Licensing will be Classic’s partner in merchandising the characters.
