Directors Ryan Fleck (“Half Nelson”) and Kirby Dick (“This Film Is Not Yet Rated”) are among the filmmakers, producers and industry experts set to take part in Film Independent’s second annual Filmmaker Forum in Los Angeles.
Event runs Oct. 27-28 at the Hammer Museum in Westwood after opening Oct. 26 with a sneak preview of Phillip Noyce’s political thriller “Catch a Fire,” starring Tim Robbins and Derek Luke. Screening will take place at the Mann Festival Theater.
Over the next two days, there will be a series of panel discussions on issues facing the indie film biz.
Panelists include producer Stephanie Allain, scribe Anna Boden, Paradigm Consulting’s Peter Broderick, producer Sean Furst, CAA’s Micah Green, producer Sam Kitt, director Neill dela Llana, producer Peggy Rajski, William Morris Independent’s Rena Ronson, the Hollywood Reporter’s Anne Thompson, Fox Searchlight’s Nancy Utley and director Wash Westmoreland.
On both days, indie biz experts will make themselves available during a community lunch.
