Global shooting guide

Fiji has become one of the go-to destinations for exotic shoots. Fiji’s audio-visual tax credit offers a 15% rebate to pics that spend at least 35% of their total budget on the islands. Projects budgeted above $15 million will receive a flat $2.2 million return. New this year, filmmakers must spend a minimum of F$250,000 ($150,000) locally to qualify for the coin.
Among the projects to wash ashore in the past year are Brit reality show “Celebrity Love Island” and SKE’s $14-million thriller “Straight Edge.”

New to the islands is South Pacific Prods., a local equipment supplier that set up shop late last summer. The company gets most of its business from local live events, but also works with many of the area’s film shoots. Among the available rentals are lighting and audio gear, flooring, air conditioning and power generators. Contact:
