Ferzetti takes Days job

Critic replaces Gosetti, who now joins Rome fest

Italo film critic Fabio Ferzetti is the new topper of Venice Days, the Venice Film Festival’s 2-year-old offshoot that’s modeled on Cannes’ Directors’ Fortnight.

Ferzetti will replace Giorgio Gosetti, who launched Venice Days and is now a head honcho at Rome’s new Cinema Festa film fest, which debuts in October.

Ferzetti, senior reviewer for Rome daily Il Messagero, was previously on the selection committee for the Venice Critics’ Week and was also a collaborator of former Venice fest topper Gillo Pontecorvo.

The independently operated Venice Days is run by Italian filmmakers’ org ANAC and producers’ trade body API.
