LONDON — For the second year running, European Film Promotion is offering sales support to Euro sales agents and producers attending the Shanghai Intl. Film Festival, which began Saturday.
EFP’s commitment in Shanghai has doubled since last year.
This year eight European sales agents and production companies hailing from Belgium, France, Germany, the U.K. and Hungary are receiving financial support to market nine films at Shanghai, four of which are screening in official competition: “Four Minutes” (Germany), which world preems; “Burnt Out” (France); “Love Belongs to Everyone” (Belgium); and “Shop of Dreams” (Estonia/Finland).
The growing importance of the Chinese fest and accompanying TV market is not going unnoticed by European bizzers.
Reps from EFP members the Austrian Film Commission, the British Council, the Greek Film Center and Spain’s ICAA are attending. And a delegation of London film bizzers including Anthony Minghella is in Shanghai on a week-long trade mission organized by the U.K. Film Council’s Film London promotional org.
EFP’s Film Sales Support program is supported by the Media Program of the European Union.
