Dune piles on more pic coin

Co. extends fund pact

Dune Entertainment is extending its co-financing partnership with Fox Filmed Entertainment, investing $325 million more across an additional 16 Fox releases.

In the original deal, signed in January, Dune invested $325 million in 28 films.

Deal will continue to provide Fox with increased financial flexibility and protection for the studio’s production and release slate.

FFE, comprising 20th Century Fox, Fox 2000, Fox Searchlight, Fox Atomic and 20th Century Fox Animation, will retain all worldwide distribution rights to pics co-financed by Dune.

Dresdner Kleinwort, the investment bank of Dresdner Bank, provided debt financing to Dune in connection with the transaction.

Dune is a newly formed company focused on the ownership of entertainment content. It is an affiliate of Dune Capital, a broad-based, multibillion-dollar hedge fund.
