Dolenz digs film distrib

Former Monkee gets Independent

Micky Dolenz is monkeying with the film distribution biz.

Dolenz, best known for his role on 1960s skein “The Monkees” and subsequently a helmer for such series as “Boy Meets World” and “Pacific Blue,” is teaming with Stuart Gross to launch L.A.-based Independent Entertainment.

Duo plan on hitting the fest circuit to snap up pics for the shingle and build a slate, and they will be on the prowl at Sundance.

“Our current projects are all films that the majors don’t typically make, but each has a story that deserves to be told,” Dolenz said. “Stuart and I have a distinct point of view of what kinds of films we want to make.”

TV commercial industry vet Gross is the founder of shingle Harmony Pictures as well as the production outfit Random/Order Information and Entertainment.
