‘December’ tops Method Fest

Rodriguez's 'Push' nabs audience award

Lee Toland Krieger’s “December Ends” took top honors at the 8th Annual The Method Fest independent film festival snaring both Picture and Actor, Josh Janowicz, kudos at the April 7 ceremony at the Carlson Family Theatre in Calabasas.

Dave Rodriguez’s “Push” garnered the audience award for best picture at the fest presented by the City of Calabasas while Jason Matzner’s “Dreamland” snagged the director and actress nods.

“Dreamland” thesps Agnes Bruckner and Kelli Garner share the actress kudo and were also feted with the rising star award.

Eugene Byrd took the breakout performance award for “Confess,” Evan Richards won best screenplay for “In A Day’s” and John McGinley snatched the Festival Director’s Award for Acting Excellence in “Dirt Nap.”

“Adam y Eva,” a non-competing Mexican film, received the Jury’s Special Recognition for overall excellence.
