Angryfilms' Murphy, Montford co-producing adaptation
Warner Bros. Pictures is bringing a bigscreen adaptation of DC Comics’ “Deadman” to life.
Pic is being produced by Guillermo del Toro along with Angryfilms’ Don Murphy and his producing partner Susan Montford.
The character is a ghost who, when alive, was a circus acrobat named Boston Brand. He was murdered during a trapeze performance by an unknown assailant but his spirit was granted the power to possess the living in order to search for his murderer as well as help the innocent.
Producers are working on giving “Deadman” a contemporary take and are zeroing in on a screenwriter to adapt for the screen.
Del Toro’s latest pic, the Cannes competition selection “Pan’s Labyrinth,” is due to have its North American preem at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival.
Murphy’s Angryfilms is editing the Michael Davis-directed “Shoot ‘Em Up” starring Clive Owen and has “Transformers” in front of cameras.
