Cuatro picks Yank skeins

'Eureka,' 'Nightmares' added to inventory

Upstart Spanish broadcaster Cuatro has picked up two more U.S. skeins, Sci Fi Channel’s “Eureka” and TNT’s “Nightmares and Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King.”

“Eureka” will screen on the Sogecable-owned Cuatro at year’s end. No decision has been made on the “Dreamscapes” bow.

Using U.S. series to target young adult auds, Cuatro ratcheted up an impressive 6.5% audience share in September after broadcasting for a mere 10 months.

Its star performer, “House,” notched up 19.7% and 17.9% aud share for the first and second episodes of the second series, which aired Oct.17 and Oct. 24.

And, noted Fernando Jerez, Cuatro program and programming director, “We are in negotiations on other series.”
