Cannes Brief

Tele Munchen Group’s theatrical division Concorde Filmverleih acquired German rights to eight films at the Cannes Film Market, including Stephen Frears’ “The Queen,” starring Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth II, and Bruce Evans’ “Mr. Brooks” starring Kevin Costner and Demi Moore.

Company also nabbed Peter Hedges’ comedy “Dan in Real Life,” starring Steve Carell and Juliette Binoche.

Following its recent release of “Silent Hill,” Concorde picked up horror titles “30 Days of Night” by David Slade (“Hard Candy”) and produced by Sam Raimi for Mandate Pictures; “Death Sentence,” by James Wan (“Saw”); and Glen Morgan’s remake of “Black Christmas.”
