Thesp gets 'Real' for MGM

Patricia Clarkson has been cast in “Lars and the Real Girl,” Sidney Kimmel Entertainment’s offbeat indie being released by MGM. She joins Ryan Gosling and Emily Mortimer. Craig Gillespie is directing from a script by Nancy Oliver.

Filming begins in November.

Pic is the story of a timid man whose life changes dramatically when an Internet friend comes to visit. The beautiful, religious missionary is in fact an inanimate replica of a woman.

Sidney Kimmel, John Cameron and Sarah Aubrey will produce, with SKE prexy of production William Horberg exec producing along with Bruce Toll.

Clarkson, who starred in Sony’s “All the King’s Men,” is filming “Marriage,” directed by Ira Sachs and starring Pierce Brosnan. This year, she won her second Emmy for her role in HBO’s “Six Feet Under.”
