Cannes Brief

CANNES — Germany’s Beta Cinema has taken international rights to Spanish Un Certain Regard player “Salvador.” Directed by Catalan auteur Manuel Huerga (“Antartida”), true-life drama turns on Salvador Puig Antich (Daniel Bruehl), who robbed banks to fund Spain’s trade union movement. Pic is co-produced by Spanish production and services company Mediapro and the U.K.’s Future Films.

Mediapro will also produce a film by Woody Allen, to be shot in Spain in the summer of 2007.
