SYDNEY — Iain Canning has been tapped to run Becker Films Intl., the foreign sales division of Australia’s Becker Group, from its London headquarters, following Reiko Bradley’s decision to return to Los Angeles.
Jonathan Page will join the foreign sales division to work on financing projects and manage the Sydney office.
Page has spent 18 months developing Becker’s film distribution and production divisions.
“It’s problematic to be effective (in sales) out of Sydney,” said Becker Group topper Richard Becker, who steps down from operational duties June 30. “Australia is on the wrong side of the clock, and you can’t speak to people during business hours to get things done.”
At Cannes, Becker is repping “Opal Dream” from Peter Cattaneo, “Control” by Anton Corbjin and French pic “Birds of Heaven” from Eliane de Latour.
