Christine Langan, who produced “Pierrepoint” and Stephen Frears’ upcoming “The Queen” for Granada, has joined BBC Films.
She will work as an inhouse producer/exec producer alongside the development team.
Although not a direct replacement for former development head Tracey Scoffield, who left last year, Langan is effectively filling the vacancy left by Scoffield’s exit.
Langan joined Granada in 1993. Her producing credits there include drama series “Cold Feet” and telepics “The Deal” and “Dirty Filthy Love.”
“Pierrepoint,” starring Timothy Spall, premiered at last year’s Toronto Film Festival, and “The Queen,” starring Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth II, will be released later this year.
