Bahamas fest unveils sked

Cage kudo, film programs and line-ups revealed

Sean Connery will present Nicolas Cage with the Career Achievement kudo at the third annual Bahamas International Film Festival on Dec. 8.

Fest, Dec. 7- 10, consists of three juried competition categories: the Spirit of Freedom (both narrative and documentary sections) and the New Visions section.

Additional film programs include Panorama World Cinema, Special Screenings, Caribbean Spotlight and a new component added this year East Meets West, which will present films from Eastern Europe, India, East Asia and the Pacific Islands.

Film line-up includes Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady’s “Jesus Camp,” which earned a spot on the Oscar doc short list, Ryan Fleck’s “Half Nelson” and Neil Armfield’s “Candy.”
