Jackman, Fox go for action
Hugh Jackman’s Seed Prods. has made a Fox 2000 deal to turn the Robert Littell spy novel “The Amateur” into an action vehicle for Jackman. “24” executive producer Evan Katz will write the script and Jackman will produce with partner John Palermo. Since establishing Seed as a production based at Fox, Jackman and Palermo have set a variety of projects to match Jackman’s versatility. They’ve covered comedy (“The Rebound Guy”), musical (“Carousel”) and superhero (“Wolverine”).
Jackman will play a CIA cryptographer whose fiancee is killed in a suspicious plane crash. When he discovers that the plane was brought down by terrorists, he finds the leverage that forces his bosses to train him to exact revenge.
