Garner teams with Foxx, Cooper on U pic

Jennifer Garner is joining Jamie Foxx and Chris Cooper in Universal’s “The Kingdom.”

Peter Berg-directed drama revolves around a counterterrorist detail sent to investigate a terrorist bombing in one of the compounds that houses Western workers in a Middle Eastern country. Matthew Michael Carnahan wrote the script. Michael Mann and Scott Stuber are producing; Mary Parent exec produces with Film 44’s John Cameron and Sarah Aubrey.

Garner, who’s wrapping up her run on “Alias” and getting back to work after her pregnancy, most recently completed the Susannah Grant-directed comedy “Catch and Release.”
