Paramount’s specialty division has upped vet exec Robert Schulze to exec VP of distribution. Schulze will oversee all aspects of film sales and distribution, reporting to prexy John Lesher.
Schulze has served as senior veep of distribution at Par Classics since 2001.
During the past five years, he has overseen film sales and distribution, including forecasting and development of theatrical strategies, and served as a liaison with Paramount Picture Commercial Film Distribution Group. “Mad Hot Ballroom,” “Mostly Martha” and “Man on a Train” are among the pics he supervised.
“Robert is a consummate professional with a sterling reputation and excellent relationships with exhibitors,” Lesher said. “His extensive experience in distributing groundbreaking films makes him a huge asset to our group.”
Before coming to Par, Schulze served as veep of exhibition marketing at USA Films. During this time, he was credited with successful in-theater marketing campaigns for “Traffic,” “Nurse Betty” and “Being John Malkovich.”
Prior to USA Films, Schulze served in a sales capacity at October Films, the Samuel Goldwyn Co., Fine Line and Orion.
